Hi everyone, Dan here.
We had a wonderful holiday weekend in Bakersfield. The show was fun, the fireworks were great, and the food was legendary. Every time we're there, it's like family. Well, Pete grew up in Bakersfield so it actually is his family. For the rest of us though, it's like a surrogate family I guess.
Every time we visit, Pete's dad, Rick (pictured front and center), BBQ's a feast. It is in all seriousness some of the best food we've ever had. That meal coupled with two stops at In n' Out Burger and the all night taco truck and I'd say it was the best weekend of eating my stomach has been filled with for a long time.
The show was great too. Despite the 100 degree heat, we had a lot of fun. The next morning we played an acoustic set at Fellowship Baptist Church where Rick is the Senior Pastor. We got to eat pancakes with the youth group and listen to some dynamite preaching. We even got to hear Pete's mom, Anita, rock it on the piano.
Anyway, here's some photos. See you in Kentucky.

They told us it costs about $1000 a minute for a fireworks show so this would equal???
We played up until the fireworks.
Happy Independence Day!

Awesome pics Dan, glad you're no longer eating dog food, lol
I'm mad you're playing at Creation West but didn't play at Creation East - you must come back to our area sometime soon :-) Enjoy the rest of the summer festivals!!!
Have a wonderful week, be blessed!
